Our Annual Conference began in 1901 as the Missouri Conference on Corrections and Charities. It was primarily a statewide professional forum for philanthropists, government employees of human services agencies, and private charity professionals. For the first decade its activities consisted mostly of meeting once a year to discuss social problems and read papers.

Today, the Annual Conference continues to be a highly anticipated event in which hundreds of Social Justice Advocates from across the country convene to learn about and discuss social problems and possible solutions.

It is also during this time that MASW’s Annual Member Meeting takes place and when State Board Members are elected.
